TOURING EXHIBITION

THE MILLS

SHOWCASING NEW TECHNOLOGIES THAT SYNERGISE AI AND DESIGN

Organised by the Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab), Fashion X AI touring exhibitions showcase novel AI and Design technologies developed by AiDLab. The exhibition will tour The Mills, Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Science and Technology Park and Fabrica X, UK.

The exhibition’s first stop was at The Mills on 13th to 26th February 2023.

Highlighted exhibits include:

· World’s first designer-led AI fashion collections developed with AiDA (AI-based Interactive Design Assistant for Fashion) in collaboration with international luxury brand, ANTEPRIMA, international and local designer brands and local young design talent;

· AI & Ergonomics

· Intelligent Textiles

Visitors engaged with the newest technologies by interacting with the experiential showcases featuring the AiDA system and gesture recognition intelligent textiles.


The touring exhibition will then move to the Hong Kong Science Park Atrium Link during 27th June to 10th July 2023 and travel to London this fall.

The intelligent textile system recognises hand and body gestures by utilising computer vision and illuminating optical fibres, and provides immediate feedback via different coloured illuminations.

One of the highlighted exhibits in the touring exhibition is the world’s first designer-led AI fashion collections developed with AiDA (AI-based Interactive Design Assistant for Fashion) in collaboration with international luxury brand, ANTEPRIMA, and international and local designer brands and local young fashion talent.

AI & Ergonomics: Eyewear is another highlighted exhibit. The project aims to use AI to develop individual head template in order to produce customised products. A kiosk utilizes developed templates, and 3D scanned head and face data, will be designed to develop accurate models for customised product design.

Jointly developed by AiDLab and the Royal College of Art (RCA), AiLoupe allows designers and material developers to discover and assess textile materials for material identification, knowledge and selection.
